Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company Restaurant

An amazing building on the beach in freespins this lovely fishing port, the Royal Native Oyster Stores was built overlooking the Thames Estuary, initially to store oysters and to look out onto the waters to prevent poaching by other fisherman.

Around fifteen years ago the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company turned this listed building into a unique fish restaurant, offering fresh fish that is simply prepared in an open planned kitchen.

We have ensured that their native oysters are as fresh as possible, by using our own boats, dredgers and fisherman to kaboo casino catch them during the months of April to September.

Rock Oysters are farmed at the East Quay Shellfish Bar, on the harbour, where they are both purified and graded.

Due to the popularity of the restaurant, especially over the weekend and during the summer months, prior reservations are essential.
Sorry We Do Not Take E Mail Bookings.

Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company are pleased to announce our new book called `The story of the Whitstable oyster' available from the Restaurant or the Hotel Continental.
